A Little about Tattered Inspirations

Tattered Inspirations is a little business which aims to provide products with a vintage heart to use in your crafts - be it scrapbooking, card making or other crafty pursuits.

The business is only tiny and is not in any way out to make lots of money but rather to offer products to compliment the usual supplies availble by big companies.

The Design Team Michelle Lark, Rachel Walsh and Helen Jolly creatively use the products to show people what can be done - and I treasure their input and design work immensly.

Thanks you for dropping by, we aim to encourage and inspire you to do something different out of your comfort zone, in new and exciting ways.

A little procrastination

I am procrastinating because I should be packing my bag to go on holiday tomorrow up in Queensland .... to warmer whether and beautiful views - but here I am puddling around on the computer......

Today is Mothers Day and it is actually my first without my Mum. She is now an angel and I hope that she is drinking champagne and having it with strawberries which she always enjoyed! I am thinking of you Nancy Claire .... love you always

So to you all - the carers, nurturers and the mothers.... those with children and those without - happy Mothers Day because what you do for others is important!!

I am getting the shop ready for new products in a couple of weeks time - so stay tuned for a lovely new lot of things for you to enjoy....... I also created 117 kits new ones .... so there is heaps happening

I thought I would share this....
I purchased this figerine of a little bird standing on a couple of books from
Bed Bath and Table - simply by fave store..... But it was totally white.
So inspired by a pair of gorgeous scarlet robins who love to perch in the tree outside
I painted my bird to match the female......
I think it is really cute and am totally happy with the way it came out
I kept Phils bird book close too so it is a real likeness
Thanks for looking

Plus I have some gorgeous exciting news too which we will share when I get back

The newsletter is also due when I get back - so I will be happily thinking of it as I am on holiday

I intend to do some sketches and paintings while I am away - so hopefully will share some when I return

So happy Mothers Day everyone

Love
Carol

Autumn Escape

Well what a huge weekend - days of laughs, fun, creativity and nuturing

Spent with the most wonderful ladies who are totally happy and awesome

And not one real problem .... so I am pretty happy and blissed out at this point

The evaluations are great - sure there are things to improve - I got a little too carried away with the number of challenges and we will need to try and get a few things fixed accomodation wise but many ladies are already trying to pay the deposit for the next one! And I haven't even got it to that state as yet! Not even a date LOL

The best comments were that people felt loved, nutured and refreshed .... and isn't that what a retreat is supposed to be about?

So I am happy and so pleased that I was able to run this from the heart - because it is exactly the sort of retreat that I would like to participate in - from the hug and welcome at the front door to the farewell - with happy faces all round

Not bad for the first one!

Thank you to everyone who helped, supported and participated......

I feel very happy it went so well

Love
Carol

sharing my Craft Room Makeover

Hi everyone..... with the Auutmn Escape around the corner it is just so exciting here - but I have also been busy with our new house......

I have a designated craft room - not a computer/craft/painting/everything else type room like I do now..... so I have been doign a makeover .... and I am loving it because it is girly (complete with chandeleir) and very very french.....I am into that at the moment too!

So here are a few pics to show you how I spent my tax check :)

Here is my gorgeous chadeleir .... love this - not too fussy just right I think :)

Here is the 'rainsong' and 'china beige' painted wall - yes masking tape and a spirit level
plus lots of patience

Love this wall - a photo and clock frame from Blue Illusion and the vintage suitcases I have collected
Plus the door knobs which were supposed to be hooks - but I couldn't resist

A quiet antique nook -love this!!
The doll, lamp and books all antique... LOVE

My gorgeous antique dresser I have had for years and cost me $5 .... I finally did it up yesterday, painted it, distressed it, then gave it a coat of beeswax and new handles - I just think it is perfect - it also now has a new piano stool to match!

A view through the window - I seriously cannot wait to create in here!!

I will be back with lots of goodies after the Autumn Escape
Lots of love

Autumn Escape is almost here!!!

Wow I cannot believe it that it is finally just 16 days away - after planning, buying, making, sewing and a good deal of scheming the Autumn Escape is so close now

44 ladies from all over Australia will descend on Canberra - at Gold Creek Resort to enjoy an action packed time of scrapping, classes, workshops and competitions in the best company ever brought together for a retreat

So this is keeping me hugely busy but happy too in knowing that all is fantastic with the world - I love that there is so much goign on!!

Have an awesome day everyone
I am off to buy the paint for my Parisian iunspired craft room - can it honestly get any better than that???

Lots of love

Shop is closed til May

Hi everyone

I have put the Etsy shop onto vacation mode until after the Autumn Escape and moving house

It will be back bigger and better but for the time being I need to concentrate on the Autumn Escape and building stock again

The shop will be back in May with wonderful new items that you will love ............ And it will have a new look too

Thanks for all your support and I know that you are going to love what I have for you.....

The Autumn Escape girls will be trying out all the new goodies and I hope to take some photos of their work to show you too.

A new newsletter will be out at the same time too

Oh and a bit of exciting news ....... that will have to wait too

Til May then.......

Carol

Busy but working on everything at once

I keep on appologising here - but things are certainly busy and I am finding it hard to fit everything in..... so I thought I would share a little to show you how much I am doing

The Autumn Escape is 19 short days away - goodness me - how crazy is that - it was 1 year ago and now somehow it is 19 days away - and I still have heaps to do!!!! I have developed some new lines for the Autumn Escape so I thought I would share what Michelle Lark has done with a few gorgeous things - these will be launched at the Autumn Escape and then be available in the shop

Some of the new vintage (yep not the China ones these are real vintage - from the 1920s and 1930s.....), hand dyed and in packs of 5, 6 or 8s with an embellishment. This is an up close shot of the gorgeous work by Michelle Lark.

The Gorgeous Card by Michelle Lark
Using vintage lace and hand dyed doileys, vintage sprig and hat pin

I love how Michelle has cut up the doileys to make them go farther!!
 Beautiful work Michelle

I have also left my consultancy job - thankfully and our new house settles tomorrow!! Another part of our journey and I am so excited!! I am doing the craft room up in a Parisian theme so I have all things french - I am sure I will be sharing them here - so be prepared for a number of photos as I redecorate!

And lastly the gorgeous Mary Schoknecht from Colarado Springs sent me this - I just love it!!! And it helped her get onto the Design Team too - people are loving these sprigs, and Mary used one too at the right of her work, and they are popping up in all sorts of places!!!! There are only a few in the shop - I promise more after the Autumn Escape

Design Team application piece Mary Schoknecht
I love this!!

Thank you for all your support
Cheers
